Tamara Janice Dobson (born May 14, 1947 – died October 2, 2006) was an American actress and model. She started her career as a model in the late 1960s. Tamara Dobson became famous for playing the main character, a government agent named Cleopatra "Cleo" Jones. She starred in the 1973 movie Cleopatra Jones and its 1975 sequel, Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold.

Early Life and Education
Tamara Dobson was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the second of four children born to Melvin and Evelyn Dobson. Before becoming a model, Tamara worked as a beautician.
She began her modeling journey by doing fashion shows at her school, the Maryland Institute College of Art. There, she earned a degree in fashion illustration. While still a student in 1969, Tamara was discovered. Soon after, she started appearing in commercials and working as a model.
Becoming a Star: Tamara Dobson's Career
After finishing school, Tamara Dobson moved from Maryland to New York. She wanted to work full-time as a model and actress. Early in her modeling career, she appeared in Jet Magazine.
Later, she became a fashion model for famous magazines like Vogue Magazine and Essence. She also appeared in TV commercials for big brands such as Revlon, Fabergé, and Chanel.
Tamara Dobson is even recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records. She holds the title for the "Tallest Leading Lady in Film," standing at 6 feet 2 inches tall.

Besides her famous role as Cleopatra Jones, Tamara Dobson acted in other movies. These include Come Back, Charleston Blue, Chained Heat, and Norman... Is That You?.

In the year 2000, Tamara Dobson was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. This is a condition that affects the brain and spinal cord.
She passed away on October 2, 2006, at the age of 59. She died in Baltimore, Maryland, due to problems from pneumonia and multiple sclerosis. Tamara Dobson never married or had children.
