Jasonville is a small city located in Greene County, Indiana, United States. In 2020, about 1,983 people lived there. It's known as the "Gateway to Shakamac" because it's very close to Shakamak State Park.

A Look at Jasonville's Past
Jasonville was started in 1858. It got its name from one of its founders, a man named Jason Rogers.
The city has a long history. In 1914, a large fire happened in the town. For many years, Jasonville was a busy mining community, where people worked in coal mines.
One of the most important parts of Jasonville's history is its connection to Shakamak State Park. The park is only about one mile from the city. This is why Jasonville is called the "Gateway to Shakamak."
