Jawann Oldham (born July 4, 1957) is an American former professional basketball player. He was a very tall player who played as a center. He was chosen by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 1980 NBA draft. He played for eight different teams over ten seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Early Life and College Basketball
Oldham was born in Chicago and grew up in Seattle. He went to Cleveland High School there. Later, he played college basketball at Seattle University.
During his time in college, he scored 1,530 points. He also grabbed 965 rebounds. After his successful college career, he was drafted into the NBA.
Professional Basketball Career
Playing in the NBA
In his NBA career, Jawann Oldham played in 329 games. He scored a total of 1,455 points. He played for many teams, including the Denver Nuggets and the Houston Rockets. He also played for the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, and Sacramento Kings. Later, he joined the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, and Indiana Pacers.
A fun fact about his time with the Chicago Bulls is that he was the last player to wear jersey number 33 before the famous player Scottie Pippen wore it.
Playing for His Country
Oldham also represented the United States in international basketball. He won a gold medal with the US basketball team. This happened at the 1979 Summer Universiade. This event is like a mini-Olympics for college athletes.
After the NBA
After his NBA career, Oldham helped basketball grow in other countries. He was important in starting the Korean Basketball League in South Korea. He also helped create the Continental Basketball Association in China during the 1990s.
He also worked in Japan, where he helped develop and coach for the bj league. Today, he has his own basketball academy. The Jawann Oldham Professional Development Basketball Academy operates in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This academy helps young players improve their skills.
