Jawed Sheikh (born on October 8, 1954) is a very well-known Pakistani actor, film director, and producer. He has worked in many movies in both Lollywood (Pakistan's film industry) and Bollywood (India's film industry). You might know him from popular Hindi films like Om Shanti Om, My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves, and Namastey London.

Early Life and Beginnings

Jawed Sheikh was born in Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. He started his journey in the world of acting in 1974.

A Career in Film and Television

Working in Pakistan

Jawed Sheikh made his acting debut in the Lollywood film Dhamaka. This movie was released on December 14, 1974. Since then, he has acted in over 100 films. These movies were in different languages, including Urdu, Sinhala, and Punjabi.

He has also appeared in many popular television shows. These shows were broadcast on channels like PTV, Hum TV, and Geo Entertainment. Some of his notable Pakistani films include Na Maloom Afraad (2014), Bin Roye (2015), and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (2015). His recent work includes the action comedy Teefa in Trouble (2018).

As a Director and Producer

Besides acting, Jawed Sheikh is also a talented director and producer. His first film as a director was Mushkil, released in 1995. In 2002, he directed Yeh Dil Aap Ka Huwa, where he also played a role.

In 2008, he directed Khulay Aasman Ke Neechay. This was a big-budget film shot in four different countries. Even though it was a large project, the film did not earn much money at the box office. In 2018, Sheikh directed and acted in the film Wajood.

In 2005, Jawed Sheikh began acting in Bollywood films. He appeared in movies such as Shikhar (2005) and Jaan-E-Mann (2006). In 2007, he was seen in Namastey London and Om Shanti Om. He also had a supporting role in Jannat (2008).

He has continued to work in Bollywood occasionally. For example, he played Ranbir Kapoor's father in Tamasha (2015). He also acted alongside his daughter, Momal Sheikh, in Happy Bhaag Jayegi (2016).

Jawed Sheikh has two children who are also actors. His daughter is Momal Sheikh and his son is Shahzad Sheikh. He has been married twice. His first wife was Zinat Mangi. His second wife was Salma Agha.

He comes from a family of talented people in the entertainment industry. His younger brother is Saleem Sheikh. His brother-in-law is Behroze Sabzwari, and his nephew is Shehroz Sabzwari.

Supporting Social Causes

Jawed Sheikh has shown support for the Dawat-e-Islami organization. This group focuses on religious and social activities. He has shared positive thoughts about their work. In December 2025, he visited their main center in Karachi and praised their efforts.
