Ashley Darel Jazz Richards (born 12 April 1991) is a Welsh footballer. He plays as a full-back, but can also play as a midfielder. His most recent club was Haverfordwest County.
Jazz Richards started his career at his hometown club, Swansea City. Before that, he played youth football for Cardiff City. He played 51 games for Swansea City over six years.
During his time with Swansea, he also played on loan for other teams. These included Crystal Palace, Huddersfield Town, and Fulham. He joined Fulham permanently in 2015. In 2016, he moved to Cardiff City. He helped Cardiff get promoted to the Premier League in 2018.
In 2021, Richards signed with Haverfordwest County. He also played for the Wales national team. He made his international debut in 2012. He was part of the Wales team at UEFA Euro 2016. He has played 14 games for his country.

Club Career Highlights
Starting at Swansea City
Youth and Early Games

Jazz Richards was born in Swansea, Wales. He played football for his local club, West End. Then, he joined the Cardiff City Academy. After two seasons, he left Cardiff. At age fifteen, he joined the academy at Swansea City.
Richards first played as a central midfielder. But his manager, Roberto Martínez, moved him to defense. This was because there were many strong midfielders on the team. He continued to play as a defender.
After playing for the youth teams, Richards made his first professional game. This was for Swansea in a Championship match. It happened on August 15, 2009, against Middlesbrough. He came on as a substitute. After playing 15 games in his first season, he signed a new contract.
In the 2010–11 season, Richards did not play much at first. He made his first appearance on January 3, 2011. This was because many defenders were injured. He played a few more games. But he lost his spot when other players returned. Swansea was promoted to the Premier League that season. Richards played in eight games.
He made his Premier League debut on October 15, 2011. He came on as a substitute against Norwich City. He then signed a new contract. He made his first Premier League start on December 3, 2011. He finished the 2011–12 season with eight appearances.
Loan to Crystal Palace
At the start of the 2012–13 season, Richards wanted to play more. He decided to go on loan to gain experience. In January, he joined Crystal Palace. He played his first game for them on January 30, 2013. In his next game, he helped his team score a winning goal.
During his loan, he signed a new contract with Swansea. He played 11 games for Crystal Palace. He was also on the bench when Crystal Palace won promotion to the Premier League.
Loan to Huddersfield Town
After returning to Swansea, Richards played in a Europa League qualifier. On September 10, 2013, he joined Huddersfield Town on loan. He played his first game for them on September 17, 2013. His loan ended in December after 9 games.
After his loan, Richards did not play for Swansea again that season. He made only one more appearance in the FA Cup.
Back at Swansea City
In the 2014–15 season, Richards played his first game in the League Cup. He then made his first Premier League appearance in two years. He played a few more games that year. He faced tough competition for his position.
This was Richards' last season with Swansea. He played 51 games for the club in six years. Only 18 of these were in the Premier League. He never became a regular starter for the team.
Playing for Fulham
On January 24, 2015, Richards joined Fulham on a one-month loan. He played his first game for them on January 31, 2015. After playing five games, his loan was extended. He played 14 games for Fulham during this loan.
On July 2, 2015, Richards joined Fulham permanently. He signed a three-year deal. He played 22 games in his first full season with Fulham. He became a regular player when he was fit. However, the next season, his manager preferred another player. Fulham then accepted an offer from Cardiff City for Richards.
Time at Cardiff City
On July 19, 2016, Richards joined Cardiff City. He made his debut in a game against Birmingham City.
After starting as a regular player, Richards got injured in September. He missed three months of the season. He returned to play on January 2. He then played in many games. He felt he had "a lot more to show." In his first season with Cardiff, he played 26 league games. This was the most in his career.
At the start of the next season, Richards got injured again. He had ankle surgery in September 2017. He returned in January 2018. But another injury ended his season early. He played only eleven games that season. Cardiff was promoted to the Premier League. Richards left Cardiff when his contract ended in 2020.
Haverfordwest County
In March 2021, Richards joined Cymru Premier team Haverfordwest County. He signed a contract until the end of the season. In May 2021, he extended his contract. In April 2022, Richards scored his first three professional goals in one game. He then signed another two-year contract.
Richards played for Haverfordwest in the Europa Conference League in 2023. He played against teams like KF Shkendija and B36 Torshavn. In May 2024, Richards' contract with Haverfordwest ended.
International Career
Richards played for the Wales under-17 and under-19 teams. He was first called up to the under-21 squad in March 2009. He played ten or more games at each youth level.
On May 27, 2012, he played his first game for the senior Wales team. This was in a friendly match against Mexico. Wales qualified for UEFA Euro 2016. Richards was chosen for the team. He played one game in the tournament. This was as a substitute in a 2–1 win against Slovakia.
Wales reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016. They lost to Portugal. As of October 2018, Richards has played 14 international games for Wales. He started in seven of these games. He also played in Euro 2016 qualifying and 2018 World Cup qualifying matches.
