His Life Story

Jean Baptiste de Montesson was born in 1687 in Paris, France. He was baptized at the Church of Saint-Sulpice, a famous church in Paris. His family, the Montessons, came from the Brittany region of France.

In 1709, when he was about 22 years old, he married Marguerite Iris de Poix. They were married for many years, but they did not have any children together.

Later in his life, when he was 70 years old, he married again. His second wife was Charlotte de La Haye de Riou. She later became the secret wife of the powerful Duke of Orléans.
