Jefferson is a small community in Kanawha County, West Virginia, United States. It's located right along the Kanawha River. In 2010, about 676 people lived there.
Jefferson was officially made a town on March 22, 1997. However, it stopped being an official town less than ten years later, on February 21, 2007.
In January 2001, Jefferson was even featured on the TV show The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. A funny reporter named Stephen Colbert visited the community for a segment.
