Jeffrey Gaines' Music Journey

Early Songs and Hits

Jeffrey Gaines' first song from his debut album was "Hero in Me." He performed this song live on the TV show Good Morning America. The song also played on the radio and MTV. However, it was a different song that became his biggest hit.

His second single, "Scares Me More," had a special acoustic live version of Peter Gabriel's song "In Your Eyes" on its B-side. Peter Gabriel's original song was very popular in 1986. Jeffrey Gaines' acoustic version got a lot of attention on the radio in 1992.

"In Your Eyes" Becomes a Big Success

In 2001, Jeffrey Gaines recorded "In Your Eyes" again for his album Always Be. This time, the song became a big hit for him. It reached number 22 on the U.S. Adult Top 40 chart. The song stayed on this chart for 22 weeks, showing how popular it was.

Helping Others Through Music

Jeffrey Gaines also used his talent to help others. He was one of the artists who sang on the special benefit CD called We are Family. This CD was made by Nile Rodgers after the September 11, 2001 attacks. All the money raised went to help families affected by the tragedy. The project aimed to promote a vision of a global family and respect for different cultures. The song became popular on sales and dance charts in 2001 and 2002.

TV Appearances and Tours

Jeffrey Gaines has performed his own songs on many TV shows. These include Late Night with Conan O'Brien, VH-1, Friday Night Videos, and A&E's Breakfast with the Arts.

He has also toured with many famous musicians. Some of these artists include Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Tori Amos, Tracy Chapman, Melissa Etheridge, Sting, Bryan Adams, Heart, and Stevie Nicks. When he performs, Jeffrey Gaines sometimes sings cover versions of songs by other artists. These can be songs by Elvis Costello, The Monkees, or Roberta Flack. He continues to perform live for his fans.
