Jemile Nykiwa Weeks, born on January 26, 1987, is an American former professional baseball player. He played as a second baseman and outfielder. Jemile played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for several teams. These include the Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, and San Diego Padres. He is the younger brother of another former MLB player, Rickie Weeks. Jemile also played college baseball for the University of Miami.

Early Baseball Days

Jemile Weeks started his baseball journey in high school. He went to Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

High School Achievements

While in high school, Weeks was a fantastic player.

  • He hit for a very high average of .472 in his junior year.
  • He helped his team win a conference championship.
  • He earned All-State honors twice, meaning he was recognized as one of the best players in the state.
  • Weeks also played football for two seasons.

College Baseball Career

After high school, Weeks chose to attend the University of Miami. He played college baseball for the Miami Hurricanes.

  • He was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American.
