Jens-Frederik Nielsen (born 22 June 1991) is a politician from Greenland. He became the Prime Minister of Greenland in April 2025. He is also the leader of the Demokraatit political party. Before becoming Prime Minister, he was a Minister in the government from 2020 to 2021. Nielsen is the first person from the Demokraatit party to be Prime Minister. He was also a talented badminton player.

Jens-Frederik Nielsen's Early Life and Education
Jens-Frederik Nielsen was born and grew up in Greenland. His hometown is Nuuk. He studied social science at the University of Greenland.
Nielsen's Badminton Achievements
Nielsen has been a part of the Greenland national badminton team since 2009. He won a gold medal in men's singles badminton at the 2023 Island Games. He also won other medals in team and doubles events.
Jens-Frederik Nielsen's Political Journey
In 2020, Nielsen was chosen to lead the Demokraatit party. He took over from Niels Thomsen. He was re-elected as the party leader in March 2024.
Serving as a Minister
In May 2020, Nielsen was appointed as the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources. He served in this role as part of the Kielsen VII Cabinet.
Becoming Prime Minister
During the 2025 Greenlandic general election, Nielsen received many votes. He got 4,850 personal votes. This was more than the previous Prime Minister, Múte Bourup Egede, who received 3,276 votes. Nielsen became Prime Minister on April 7, 2025.

Views on International Relations
After the conflict in Ukraine started in 2022, Nielsen asked a company called Polar Seafood to stop its business in Russia. He believed this would help put pressure on Russia and bring peace back to Europe.
In March 2025, Nielsen spoke out against threats made by the U.S. president regarding Greenland. He clearly stated that Greenland is not for sale. In April 2025, information came out about a plan by the United States. This plan aimed to weaken Denmark's control over Greenland using social media.
Greenland's Economic Future
Nielsen wants Greenland to rely less on money from Denmark. He believes Greenland should focus on growing its own businesses. This would help Greenland become more financially independent.
