Jens-Frederik Nielsen, born on June 22, 1991, is an important politician from Greenland. He is also a talented badminton player. Currently, he holds the top political job as the Prime Minister of Greenland. He is also the leader of the Demokraatit party. Before becoming Prime Minister, he was a minister in charge of industry and resources. He is the very first person from the Demokraatit party to become Prime Minister.

Political Career and Achievements
Leading the Demokraatit Party
In 2020, Nielsen was chosen to become the leader of the Demokraatit party. He took over from Niels Thomsen. He was chosen again for this important role in March 2024.
Serving as a Minister
In May 2020, Nielsen became the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources. This means he was in charge of businesses and natural resources in Greenland. He served in this role as part of the Kielsen VII Cabinet government.

Becoming Prime Minister
During the 2025 Greenlandic general election, Jens-Frederik Nielsen received many votes. He got 4,850 personal votes from the people. This was more votes than the previous Prime Minister, Múte Bourup Egede, who received 3,276 votes. Because he received so many votes, Nielsen became the new Prime Minister.

In March 2025, Nielsen spoke out strongly against threats to invade Greenland. He made it clear that Greenland would not be "taken" by anyone.
Building Greenland's Economy
Nielsen believes that Greenland should rely less on money from Denmark. This money is called a "block grant." He wants Greenland to become more independent financially. To do this, he focuses on helping businesses grow and making Greenland's economy stronger. This idea is called economic self-sufficiency.
