Kim Kielsen (born November 30, 1966) is a politician from Greenland. He was the leader of the Siumut party and served as the sixth Prime Minister of Greenland from 2014 to 2021.

Kim Kielsen's Journey
Early Life and Work
Kim Kielsen first worked as a mariner. After that, he became a police officer. He served in the police force from 1996 to 2003. He worked in towns like Upernavik and Paamiut in Greenland.
Becoming a Politician
Kim Kielsen started his political career in 2005. He was elected to the Greenlandic parliament, which is like a country's main law-making group. He also joined the local government in Paamiut.
In 2013, Kielsen became a minister in the government led by Aleqa Hammond. He was in charge of housing, nature, and the environment.
Leading Greenland
In October 2014, Aleqa Hammond stepped down. Kim Kielsen then became the acting prime minister. Soon after, the Siumut party chose him as their new leader. He won with 44 out of 65 votes.
On December 4, 2014, his party, Siumut, formed a new government. They joined with two other parties, Atassut and Demokraatit. On December 10, 2014, the new ministers officially started their jobs.
Greenland's Independence
In August 2019, the U.S. President Donald Trump showed interest in buying Greenland. Kim Kielsen responded to this idea. He said it was "not something to joke about." He also clearly stated, "Greenland is not Danish. Greenland is Greenlandic." He hoped the offer was not serious.
On November 29, 2020, Kielsen ran for reelection as the leader of the Siumut Party. However, he lost to Erik Jensen.
Personal Life
Kim Kielsen is married to Judithe Kielsen. They have two children together.
