Jeremy Deshawn Evans (born October 24, 1987) is an American professional basketball player. He plays as a power forward or center. Jeremy played college basketball for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. He was then chosen by the Utah Jazz in the 2010 NBA Draft.
During his career, Jeremy has played for several teams. These include the Utah Jazz, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. He has also played for international teams like Khimki Moscow in Russia. In 2012, he became famous for winning the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

High School Basketball
Jeremy Evans went to Crossett High School. He helped his team, the Eagles, reach the state tournament in his last two years.
As a junior, he was named All-State and All-League. He was also voted the County Player of the Year. His team finished that season with 17 wins and 10 losses.
In his senior year, Jeremy was really good. He scored about 25.6 points per game and grabbed 11 rebounds per game. He also blocked about 4 shots per game. For these great efforts, he earned All-State and All-Conference awards.
College Basketball
Jeremy played college basketball for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. In his senior year, he scored 10 points per game. He made 63.9% of his shots, which is very good.
He is the all-time leader in blocks for the Hilltoppers, with 224 blocks. Jeremy is also part of WKU's 1,000-point club. He scored 1,065 points in his college career. On average, he scored 7.9 points and grabbed 5.9 rebounds per game during his time in college.
Professional Basketball Career
Utah Jazz (2010–2015)
The Utah Jazz picked Jeremy Evans as the 55th player in the 2010 NBA draft. On March 4, 2011, he was sent to the Utah Flash, a team in a different league. He returned to the Jazz just two days later.
On February 22, 2012, Jeremy was chosen to compete in the NBA All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk Contest. He replaced an injured player. In the contest, he famously dunked two basketballs at once over his teammate Gordon Hayward. He won the contest with 29% of the fan votes!
On July 11, 2012, Jeremy signed a new contract to stay with the Utah Jazz. He participated in another Slam Dunk Contest on February 16, 2013. For one of his dunks, he jumped over a painting of himself dunking. Even though he showed off his artistic skills, he lost to Terrence Ross that year.
Dallas Mavericks (2015–2016)
On July 31, 2015, Jeremy signed a two-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks. He played his first game for the Mavericks on October 28. He scored 7 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in a win against the Phoenix Suns.
While with the Mavericks, he also played several games for the Texas Legends. This is a team in the NBA Development League (now called the G League). In March 2016, he had surgery on his right shoulder. This injury meant he could not play for the rest of that season.
Later, on July 7, 2016, Jeremy was traded to the Indiana Pacers. However, the Pacers decided to let him go on October 23, 2016, after he played in only two preseason games.
Playing in Europe and G League
After his time in the NBA, Jeremy Evans moved to play basketball overseas.
- Khimki (2016–2017): On October 29, 2016, he signed with BC Khimki, a Russian basketball club.
- Atlanta Hawks & Erie BayHawks (2017–2018): In September 2017, Jeremy signed with the Atlanta Hawks. He was released before the season started. On April 1, 2018, the Hawks signed him again for a short 10-day contract. During this time, he also played for the Erie BayHawks in the G League.
- Darüşşafaka (2018–2019): On August 21, 2018, Jeremy signed a one-year deal with Darüşşafaka in Turkey. This team also plays in the EuroLeague, which is a top European basketball league.
- Second time with Khimki (2019–2020): On July 25, 2019, Khimki brought Jeremy back to their team.
- Olimpia Milano (2021): On February 24, 2021, Jeremy signed with Olimpia Milano in Italy. He played only in EuroLeague games for them and left the team on May 31.
- Panathinaikos (2021–2022): On August 21, 2021, Jeremy signed a one-year deal with Panathinaikos in Greece. He played in both the Greek Basket League and the EuroLeague.
- Paris Basketball (2022–2023): On October 18, 2022, Jeremy signed with Paris Basketball, a French club.
- Manama (2023): Jeremy played for the Bahraini club Manama Club in 2023. He helped them win the first-ever West Asia Super League (WASL) championship. He scored about 8.3 points per game in that season.
- Nagasaki Velca (2024): In 2024, Jeremy joined Nagasaki Velca in Japan.
The Basketball Tournament
In 2017, Jeremy Evans played in The Basketball Tournament (TBT). This is an annual basketball competition where teams compete for a $2 million prize. The games are shown on ESPN.
Jeremy played for the Kentucky Kings. He averaged 21.5 points and 13 rebounds per game. He helped his team reach the second round of the tournament. In TBT 2018, he played for Eberlein Drive. His team made it all the way to the championship game but lost to Overseas Elite. Jeremy also played for Eberlein Drive in TBT 2021.
Personal Life
Jeremy Evans' mother is Gwyn. He has one younger brother named Justin. Jeremy is married to Korrie.
Besides basketball, Jeremy is also a talented artist. One of his sketches was even shown on national television during a college basketball game in 2009. This was a sketch of CBS analyst Dan Bonner. Some of Jeremy's artwork was also displayed in the Western Kentucky University athletic offices. He studied interdisciplinary studies with a focus on art in college.
