Jeremy Williams, born on August 9, 1991, is an American who used to play professional football. He was a defensive back, a player who helps stop the other team from scoring. Jeremy played college football at Hinds Community College and Henderson State University. He was part of the Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Eskimos teams in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Early Life and High School Sports

Jeremy grew up in Raymond, Mississippi. He played high school football at Raymond High School. He was a standout player, earning "All-District" honors three times. In his final year, he was named District 3A MVP and Second-Team All-State. That season, he made 97 tackles and caught seven interceptions.

Jeremy was also a talented athlete in other sports. He played basketball and ran track. He was a captain of the basketball team. He earned All-State honors in basketball, averaging 13 points and 12 rebounds per game.

College Football Journey

Jeremy started his college football career at Hinds Community College, playing for the Hinds Eagles. In 2009, his first year, he played in eight games. He made 26 solo tackles. In 2010, he started all nine games. He had 20 solo tackles, three tackle assists, and one interception.

After Hinds, Jeremy transferred to Henderson State University to play for the Henderson State Reddies. In 2011, he made 29 tackles in ten games. He also had a sack and forced a fumble in one game. He broke up three passes in another game.

On October 1, 2012, Jeremy was named the Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Week. This was after a great game where he made eight tackles, 1.5 sacks, and an interception he returned for 30 yards. He earned Second Team All-GAC honors in his senior year, 2012. That season, he had 34 solo tackles, three interceptions, and two forced fumbles. Jeremy studied sociology at Henderson State.

Professional Football Career

After college, Jeremy tried out for the St. Louis Rams in May 2013. He was not drafted into the NFL, but he kept working towards his dream.

Playing in the CFL

Jeremy signed with the Calgary Stampeders in May 2014. He played in two games during the 2014 regular season. The Stampeders had a fantastic year. They won the 102nd Grey Cup on November 30, 2014. They beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 20-16 in the championship game. Jeremy was released by the Stampeders in June 2015.

Later, Jeremy joined the Edmonton Eskimos' practice roster on July 13, 2015. A practice roster is where players train with the team but are not on the main active roster for games. He was released by the Eskimos in August 2015.

In 2016, Jeremy was chosen in the Major League Football Draft.
