A Look Back: Jerry City's History

People first settled in the area of Jerry City in the early 1860s. Back then, it had different names like Stulltown and later Shiloh. In 1872, the town was planned again and renamed Jerry City. It was named after Jerry Nestlerode, a local businessperson. A post office has been open in the village since 1872. The village officially became a recognized town in 1875.
