Jerry Faye Hall (born July 2, 1956) is an American model and actress. She started modeling in the 1970s and became one of the most famous models in the world. She later began acting and appeared in the 1989 movie Batman.

For many years, Hall was the partner of Mick Jagger, the lead singer of the Rolling Stones. They have four children together. She was also married to businessman Rupert Murdoch until they divorced in 2022.

Early Life and Family

Jerry Hall was born in Gonzales, Texas. Her mother, Marjorie, was a medical records librarian, and her father was John P. Hall. She has English, Irish, and Dutch ancestors.

Hall was a smart student and graduated from North Mesquite High School when she was only 16. She also took college classes in archery, tennis, and gymnastics.

She has a twin sister named Terry and three older sisters. One of her older sisters, Rosy, was one of the first Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Through the TV show Who Do You Think You Are?, Hall learned that she was related to Humphrey Best, who was an associate of the American pioneer Daniel Boone.

Career

A Famous Model

Jerry Hall and her twin sister, Terry, were discovered by a fashion agent named Claude Haddad while they were on a beach in Saint Tropez, France. After that, she moved to Paris and shared an apartment with singer Grace Jones and actress Jessica Lange.

Her modeling career took off when she appeared as a mermaid on the cover of the Roxy Music album Siren in 1975.

By 1977, Hall had been on the cover of 40 magazines, including the Italian Vogue and Cosmopolitan. She was earning more than $1,000 a day for her modeling work. Her long blonde hair and tall height of six feet made her one of the most recognized models of her time.

In 2016, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Fashion Group International Dallas for her long and successful career in fashion. She was also an inspiration for famous artists like Lucian Freud and Andy Warhol.
