What Made Roxy Music Special?

Roxy Music became very popular in Europe and Australia in the 1970s. Their first album, called Roxy Music, came out in 1972.

Their Unique Style

Major Albums and Achievements

Roxy Music's last studio album was Avalon, released in 1982. This album sold very well in the United States. It was certified Platinum, which means it sold over a million copies.

In 2005, the band started working on a new album. It would have been their first album with Brian Eno since 1973. However, Bryan Ferry later decided to release the songs as his own solo album. This album, called Olympia, came out in 2010. Brian Eno, Phil Manzanera, and Andy Mackay all played on it.
