Jesse Bernard "Cab" Renick (September 29, 1917 – November 25, 1999) was an American basketball player. He is best known for winning a gold medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London. Renick was a talented guard who played for his high school, college, and the U.S. Olympic team.

Early Life and College Basketball
Jesse Renick was born in Hickory, Oklahoma. He grew up playing basketball and became a star player at Marietta High School in Marietta, Oklahoma.
Playing for Oklahoma A&M
After high school, Renick went on to play college basketball at Oklahoma A&M University. This school is now known as Oklahoma State University. He played there from 1938 to 1940.
- He was named All-Missouri Valley Conference in both 1939 and 1940. This means he was one of the best players in his college league.
- He was also chosen as an All-American in both 1939 and 1940. This is a huge honor for college athletes.
- Renick was the first player from Oklahoma A&M to be named an All-American twice.
- During his two seasons, he helped lead the team to an impressive record of 45 wins and only 11 losses.
Olympic Gold Medalist
Jesse Renick achieved one of the highest honors in sports: an Olympic gold medal.
The 1948 London Olympics
He was a key member of the United States men's Olympic basketball team. This team competed at the 1948 Summer Olympics held in London, England. His teammate from Oklahoma A&M, Bob Kurland, also played on this team. The U.S. team won the gold medal, showing they were the best basketball team in the world.
A Native American Pioneer
Jesse Renick was also a very important figure for Native American athletes. He was the second Native American to ever win an Olympic gold medal. The first was the legendary athlete Jim Thorpe. This made Renick a role model for many.
