Jessica Aguilar (born May 8, 1982) is a talented Mexican mixed martial artist. She is known for her exciting fights in various promotions. Jessica was once the champion in the Strawweight division for the World Series of Fighting. She also competed in major organizations like Bellator Fighting Championships and the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Currently, she fights in RIZIN.

Jessica Aguilar's Fighting Journey
Jessica Aguilar started her professional mixed martial arts career on February 18, 2006. Her first fight was against Lisa Ellis. Jessica lost this match by a submission hold in the second round.
Early Career Fights
On February 17, 2007, Jessica faced Japanese wrestler Sumie Sakai. Jessica won this fight by a unanimous decision. This means all the judges agreed she won.
She continued fighting and won against Valerie Coolbaugh in March 2010. She used a triangle choke to win by submission. Later that year, in June, she won again by TKO (Technical Knockout) against Catia Vitoria.
Joining Bellator and Key Matches
In June 2010, Jessica signed with Bellator Fighting Championships. This was a big step in her career. She joined their 115-pound women's tournament.
Her first Bellator fight was on August 12, 2010, at Bellator 24. She won against Lynn Alvarez with an arm-triangle choke. This win moved her to the semi-finals of the tournament.
On September 30, 2010, Jessica fought Zoila Frausto Gurgel. She lost this fight by a split decision. Many people thought Jessica had fought better.
Jessica was set to fight Ayaka Hamasaki in Japan in March 2011. However, the event was canceled due to a large earthquake and tsunami.
She returned to Bellator on June 25, 2011, to fight Carla Esparza. Jessica won this match by a split decision.
Jessica faced Lisa Ellis again on November 19, 2011. She won by unanimous decision. She also beat Patricia Vidonic in February 2012.
In May 2012, Jessica fought Megumi Fujii at Bellator 69. She won by unanimous decision. She had a rematch with Patricia Vidonic in March 2013 and won again.
Jessica Aguilar left Bellator on August 13, 2013. She was one of the last female fighters left in the promotion.
Becoming a Champion in World Series of Fighting
On November 11, 2013, it was announced that Jessica had joined the World Series of Fighting (WSOF). She was the first female fighter to sign with them.
Winning the WSOF Strawweight Title
Jessica made her WSOF debut on January 18, 2014, at WSOF 8. She fought Alida Gray for the first-ever WSOF Women's Strawweight Championship. Jessica won the fight by submission in the first round. This made her the first female champion for the promotion.
She defended her title two times. First, she beat Emi Fujino on June 21, 2014, at WSOF 10. She won by unanimous decision. Her second title defense was against Kalindra Faria on November 15, 2014, at WSOF 15. She won that fight by unanimous decision too.
On May 18, 2015, Jessica left WSOF. She wanted to fight in the UFC, which is a very big fighting organization.
Fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship
Jessica officially joined the UFC on June 11, 2015. Her first UFC fight was against Cláudia Gadelha on August 1, 2015, at UFC 190. She lost this fight by unanimous decision.
Jessica was supposed to fight Juliana Lima next. But she had to have surgery for a torn ACL (a knee injury). Carla Esparza took her place.
Jessica fought Cortney Casey at UFC 211 on May 13, 2017. She lost by unanimous decision. However, the result was later changed to a "No Contest" due to a drug test issue with Casey. Later, Casey's win was given back to her.
She was scheduled to fight Livia Renata Souza in February 2018, but Souza got injured.
Jessica then fought Jodie Esquibel on July 14, 2018, at UFC Fight Night 133. Jessica won this fight by unanimous decision.
Her next fight was against Zhang Weili on November 24, 2018. Jessica lost this fight by submission in the first round.
Jessica faced Marina Rodriguez on March 30, 2019. She lost this fight by unanimous decision.
On May 16, 2019, Jessica was released from the UFC.
Later Career: Xtreme Fighting and Rizin
On October 5, 2020, Jessica signed with Xtreme Fighting Championships (XFC). She fought Danielle Taylor at XFC 43 on November 11, 2020. She lost this fight by a split decision.
In July 2022, it was announced that Jessica would join the Rizin FF 2022 Super Atomweight Grand Prix. She faced Ayaka Hamasaki in the quarterfinals at Rizin 37 on July 31, 2022.
