Jessica Dee Humphreys is a Canadian author. She writes about important topics like helping people around the world, military issues, and stories for children.
Education and Early Work
Jessica Dee Humphreys studied English Literature and Linguistics. She earned her first degree from the University of Toronto in 1997. The next year, she got her Master's degree from Queen's University.
After her studies, she worked as an intern at the United Nations Development Fund for Women in New York. This organization helps women around the world.
Books and Writing Career
Jessica Humphreys has written several books. Two of her books are for children. They are called Child Soldier: When Boys and Girls are Used in War and The International Day of the Girl: Celebrating Girls Around the World. The second book has a special introduction by Rona Ambrose.
She has also written three books with Roméo Dallaire. These books are The Peace, Waiting for First Light: My Ongoing Battle with PTSD, and They Fight Like Soldiers, They Die Like Children.
Besides her books, Jessica Humphreys has written parts of other books. She also wrote for the Toronto Star newspaper from 2020 to 2023.
