Jesús Alexander Aguilar, born on June 30, 1990, is a professional baseball player from Venezuela. He plays as a first baseman and is currently a free agent. Jesús has played for several teams in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the United States. These teams include the Cleveland Indians and Milwaukee Brewers. He also played in Japan for the Saitama Seibu Lions. In 2018, Jesús Aguilar was chosen as an All-Star, which is a big honor in baseball.

Jesús Aguilar's Baseball Journey
Starting with the Cleveland Indians
Jesús Aguilar began his professional baseball career when he signed with the Cleveland Indians in November 2007. He started playing in the minor leagues. In 2011, he hit 23 home runs while playing for two different minor league teams.
In 2013, playing for the Akron Aeros, Aguilar had a .275 batting average. He also hit 16 home runs and had 105 runs batted in (RBIs). This set a new record for RBIs for the Akron team.
Aguilar made his big league debut with the Cleveland Indians on May 15, 2014. He played in eight games before returning to the minor leagues. In 2016, he led the International League, a minor league, with 30 home runs and 92 RBIs.
Playing for the Milwaukee Brewers
The Milwaukee Brewers picked up Jesús Aguilar in February 2017. He played very well during spring training that year. This helped him earn a spot on the Brewers' team for Opening Day. In 2017, he played in 133 games. He finished the season with a .265 batting average and hit 16 home runs.
In 2018, Aguilar continued to play a lot. He hit .307 with 23 home runs and 67 RBIs in the first half of the season. His great performance helped him get voted into the 2018 MLB All-Star Game. He also took part in the exciting Home Run Derby. He ended the 2018 season with a .274 batting average, 35 home runs, and 108 RBIs. In October 2018, Aguilar won the Luis Aparicio Award. This award goes to the best Venezuelan player in Major League Baseball each year.
Time with the Tampa Bay Rays

On July 31, 2019, the Brewers traded Aguilar to the Tampa Bay Rays. After joining the Rays, he hit .261 in 37 games.
Joining the Miami Marlins
The Miami Marlins picked up Jesús Aguilar in December 2019. In the shortened 2020 season, he hit .277 with eight home runs and 34 RBIs. In 2021, Aguilar continued to play well. He hit 22 home runs and had 93 RBIs in 131 games.
In 2022, after hitting 15 home runs and 49 RBIs, the Marlins released Aguilar from their team.
With the Baltimore Orioles
Aguilar signed a contract with the Baltimore Orioles in August 2022. He played for them for a short time. He finished the season with a combined batting average of .235 between the Marlins and Orioles.
Playing for the Oakland Athletics
On January 27, 2023, Aguilar signed a one-year contract with the Oakland Athletics. He played in 36 games for Oakland. During this time, he hit 5 home runs and had 9 RBIs. He was later released by the team in May.
Journey to Japan: Saitama Seibu Lions
On December 18, 2023, Jesús Aguilar signed with the Saitama Seibu Lions. This team plays in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) in Japan. In 2024, he played in 30 games for the Lions. He hit two home runs and had 10 RBIs. In August 2024, it was announced that Aguilar had surgery on his right ankle. This meant he would miss the rest of the season. In October, the Lions decided not to renew his contract, making him a free agent again.
