James E. Price (born November 27, 1949) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He was known for his skills as a point guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Jim Price's Basketball Journey
Jim Price had an exciting career in basketball, both as a player and a coach. He played for several teams in the NBA. He also achieved many honors during his time in college and high school.
Playing in College and the NBA
Jim Price played college basketball for the Louisville Cardinals. He was a very talented player there. In 1972, the Los Angeles Lakers picked him in the second round of the 1972 NBA draft.
Price played seven seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). This was from 1972 to 1979. He played for five different teams:
In 1975, Jim Price was chosen as an NBA All-Star. This is a special honor given to the best players in the league. He was traded from the Lakers to the Bucks during that season.
High School Success and Honors
Before his professional career, Jim Price was a star in high school. He played for Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. He played alongside his older brother, Mike Price.
In 1966, Jim helped lead his high school team to the State Finals. They had an amazing season with 25 wins and only 4 losses. In 2008, Jim Price was honored for his achievements. He was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.
Coaching Career
After his playing days, Jim Price became a coach. He coached the IUPUI Jaguars women's team for five years. During his time as coach, his team had a record of 73 wins and 55 losses. They also made it to the NAIA post-season tournaments three times.
