It is still the Buccaneers' single-game record for touchdowns. Even the Dolphins' coach, Don Shula, was amazed. He said he couldn't remember any tight end playing so well against his team. A teammate, Gerald Carter, believed Jimmie could have been one of the best tight ends ever if he had been used more often.
Later in his career, Jimmie played for the Philadelphia Eagles. In 1988, he caught a touchdown pass on a famous play during a Monday Night Football game. His quarterback, Randall Cunningham, escaped a tackle and threw the ball to Jimmie for the score.
