Joanne Julian is a talented artist from America with Armenian heritage. She is well-known for her amazing artworks on paper. Throughout her long career, she has explored many different art forms. These include making prints, drawing plants and birds, and creating art inspired by Zen Buddhist ideas. She also uses calligraphy and abstract designs in her work.

Joanne Julian grew up in the San Fernando Valley in California. When she went to college, she studied sculpture and printmaking. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from California State University, Northridge.
In 1973, she earned another degree in painting from College of the Canyons in Valencia, California. After finishing her studies, she became the head of the fine arts department at the college. She also directed the college's art gallery.

Joanne Julian has shared her knowledge with many students. She has taught and given lectures at several well-known schools. These include ArtCenter College of Design and University of California, Los Angeles. She also taught at Glendale Community College (California), California State University (Northridge), and Los Angeles Trade–Technical College.
