John Henry Lancelot Aubrey-Fletcher was born in Kensington, a part of London, England. He was the oldest son of Sir Henry Lancelot Aubrey-Fletcher, who was the 6th Baronet, and his wife Mary Augusta Chilton.
He went to two famous schools. First, he studied at Eton College, a well-known boarding school. After that, he went to New College, Oxford, which is part of Oxford University.
Cricket Career
While studying at Oxford, Sir John showed his skills in cricket. In 1933, he played for the university's cricket team. This was called "first-class cricket," which is the highest level of the sport.
He also played cricket for Buckinghamshire from 1931 to 1948. This was part of the "Minor counties" cricket league.
Family Life
In 1939, Sir John married Diana Mary Fynvola Egerton. She was the great-granddaughter of a nobleman named the second Baron Harlech. Sir John and Diana had two children together:

Military Service
During the Second World War, Sir John Aubrey-Fletcher served his country. He fought as a soldier in the Grenadier Guards, which is a famous part of the British Army. He rose through the ranks and became a lieutenant colonel, a high position in the military.
Public Service
After the war, Sir John continued to serve his community. From 1961 to 1962, he held the important position of High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire. This role involved helping with law and order in the county.
