About Sir Henry's Life
Sir Henry is the only son and second child of Lieutenant-Colonel Sir John Aubrey-Fletcher and Diana Mary Fynvola Egerton. His mother came from the important Egerton family.
Early Life and Education
Sir Henry went to Eton College, a famous school. After finishing school, he spent most of his working life in two main areas: farming and broadcasting.
Career in Farming and Radio
He worked on his father's farm until 1972. That year, he took over running the farm himself. In the same year, he started working for BBC Radio Oxford as a freelance presenter. This meant he worked shifts whenever they were available.
In 1987, Sir Henry joined the board of FOX FM. This company had been given the license to run an Independent Local Radio station in Oxfordshire. He then helped to start seven more independent radio stations across central and southern England. He retired from the radio industry in 2006.
Other Important Roles
Sir Henry also held other significant positions. He was the Deputy Chairman of the National Trust from 2002 to 2005. The National Trust is a charity that protects historic places and natural beauty spots. He was also the President of the Country Land and Business Association from 2008 to 2010. Harry Aubrey-Fletcher is a close friend of Prince William. Prince William and his then-fiancée, Catherine Middleton, attended Harry's wedding. Harry Aubrey-Fletcher is also a godfather to Prince Louis of Wales, who is Prince William's youngest son.
