John Logan Jenkins III (born March 6, 1991) is an American professional basketball player. He is a shooting guard who last played for the Criollos de Caguas team. John was a top high school player, winning the Tennessee Mr. Basketball award twice. He also played college basketball for the Vanderbilt Commodores before being chosen by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2012 NBA draft.

High School Basketball Star
John Jenkins was an amazing player in high school. When he was a senior at Station Camp High School, he was the best scorer in the whole country for high school players! He averaged an incredible 42.3 points per game. This means he scored more points than almost anyone else.
Experts like Rivals.com thought he was a "five-star recruit." This is a special way of saying he was one of the very best young players in the nation. They even ranked him as the 6th best shooting guard and the 15th best player overall in 2008.
College Career at Vanderbilt
John Jenkins was known as one of the best shooters in college basketball. He played for the Vanderbilt Commodores.
- In his first year, he made 48.3% of his three-point shots.
- In his second year, he led the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in scoring, averaging 19.5 points per game. He also made the most three-pointers per game.
- In his third year, he averaged 19.9 points per game, leading the SEC in scoring for the second year in a row! He also tied a record for the most three-pointers made in one season with 134.
After his junior year, on April 9, 2012, John decided to leave college early to join the 2012 NBA draft. This meant he would become a professional player.

Professional Basketball Journey
Atlanta Hawks (2012–2015)
The Atlanta Hawks picked John Jenkins as the 23rd player in the 2012 NBA draft. He signed his first contract with them on July 10, 2012. Sometimes, he also played for their minor league team, the Bakersfield Jam, to get more playing time.
In 2013, the Hawks decided to keep him for another season. However, in December 2013, John had back pain and needed surgery. This meant he missed the rest of the 2013–14 season. He returned to play with the Hawks in 2014.
Dallas Mavericks (2015–2016)
John joined the Dallas Mavericks on July 24, 2015. In one of his first games, he scored 17 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and made 3 assists! He played for the Mavericks until February 2016.
Phoenix Suns (2016–2017)
After leaving the Mavericks, John was picked up by the Phoenix Suns on February 24, 2016. He played his first game for them the very next day. During his time with the Suns, he averaged 5.0 points and 1.2 assists per game. He stayed with the Suns until January 2017.
Westchester Knicks (2017)
On February 3, 2017, John joined the Westchester Knicks, a team in the NBA Development League (now called the G League).
Return to Atlanta (2017)
John signed with the Atlanta Hawks again on September 25, 2017, for a short time. He was waived before the regular season started.
Playing in Europe: San Pablo Burgos (2017–2018)
On November 7, 2017, John went to Spain to play for the San Pablo Burgos team. This was his first time playing professional basketball outside of the United States.
Back with Westchester Knicks (2018–2019)
In October 2018, John returned to the Westchester Knicks for another season.
Washington Wizards (2019)
On January 30, 2019, John signed a short 10-day contract with the Washington Wizards.
New York Knicks (2019)
John then signed a 10-day contract with the New York Knicks on February 11, 2019. His contract was later made permanent.
Playing in Asia and Israel (2020)
In 2020, John played for the Jiangsu Dragons in China and then for Hapoel Eilat in Israel.

- From 2020 to 2021, he played for RETAbet Bilbao Basket in Spain. He averaged 12.6 points per game there.

John Jenkins has earned many awards throughout his basketball career:

- He was a Third-team Parade All-American in 2009.
- He was also a Reebok All-American in 2009.
- In college, he was named to the SEC All-Freshman team and was the Sixth Man of the Year in 2009–10.
