John Paris is an American musician. He is best known as the drummer for the famous band Earth, Wind & Fire. John Paris has also worked with many other well-known artists. These include Sheila E, Stephanie Mills, Patti LaBelle, and Kelly Clarkson.
Meet John Paris
John Paris was born in Trenton, New Jersey, in the United States. He grew up in a family that loved music. His mother was a musician and a jazz singer. His father led a big band and was also a singer. John started playing drums when he was very young. As a teenager, he moved to California. He lived in San Francisco and later in Oakland. There, he became part of the local music scene.
His Musical Journey
John Paris began his career by touring with Sheila E.. She is a famous drummer and singer. After that, he played drums on Stephanie Mills' album in 1987. He also played drums for Patti LaBelle's albums in the early 1990s. John Paris also worked with other artists like Philip Bailey and Bruce Hornsby. He played on albums for Wayman Tisdale and the Dazz Band. Later, he even played drums on Kelly Clarkson's album in 2017.
Joining Earth, Wind & Fire
In 2001, John Paris joined the legendary band Earth, Wind & Fire. He became their main drummer. Since then, he has played on several of their albums. These include The Promise (2003) and Illumination (2005). He also played on Now, Then & Forever (2013) and Holiday (2014). John Paris is also part of a music duo called Back 2 Basics. He formed this group with saxophonist Eddie Mininfield.
