John Howard Scott (born September 26, 1982) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played as a defenceman (a player who defends their goal) and a winger (a forward player). Scott played for several teams in the NHL, including the San Jose Sharks, Minnesota Wild, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, and Buffalo Sabres.
John Scott's Early Hockey Career
John Scott started his hockey journey playing college hockey. He played for the Michigan Tech Huskies. This experience helped him develop his skills before turning professional.
Joining the NHL
After college, Scott began his professional career. He played for the Minnesota Wild for two seasons. He then moved to the Chicago Blackhawks for another two seasons. Later, he had a short time with the New York Rangers, playing in four games.
Playing for the Sabres and Sharks
On July 1, 2012, John Scott signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Sabres. He played well enough that the Sabres re-signed him. On May 20, 2013, he signed another one-year deal for $750,000.
After his time with the Sabres, Scott moved to the San Jose Sharks. He signed a one-year contract with them on July 2, 2014. This contract was worth $700,000.
