Johnny Briggs: Early Life and Baseball Start

Johnny Briggs was born in Paterson, New Jersey. He played baseball at Eastside High School there. After high school, he went to Seton Hall University.

From 1967 until his last MLB season in 1975, he played in over 100 games each year. On April 22, 1971, the Phillies traded him to the Milwaukee Brewers. He was traded for two other players, Pete Koegel and Ray Peters.

A special moment for Johnny happened on August 4, 1973. He had an amazing game against the Cleveland Indians. He got six hits in six tries! He also hit two doubles and scored two runs. This helped the Brewers win the game 9-4. Later, on June 14, 1975, the Brewers traded him to the Minnesota Twins for Bobby Darwin.
