Jon Dwane Arnett (born April 20, 1935 – died January 16, 2021) was a famous American football player. People often called him "Jaguar Jon" because of his quick and powerful playing style. He was an amazing player in college at the USC and at Manual Arts High School. He was even named an All-American, which means he was one of the best college players in the country. Jon Arnett passed away in 2021 in Lake Oswego, Oregon, due to heart failure.
College Football Career
Jon Arnett was a standout player during his college years at the USC. He won the W. J. Voit Memorial Trophy twice, in 1955 and 1956. This award is given to the best football player on the Pacific Coast.
He was so good that he was later honored in two important halls of fame:
- In 1994, he was added to the USC Athletic Hall of Fame.
- In 2001, he joined the College Football Hall of Fame as a member of the USC Trojans team.

- In 1954, he ran for 601 yards and scored 7 touchdowns. He also caught 3 passes for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Professional Football Career
After his successful college career, Jon Arnett became a professional football player. He was known by his nickname "Jaguar Jon Arnett" during this time.
He played for the Los Angeles Rams from 1957 to 1963. During these years, he was chosen to play in the Pro Bowl five times! The Pro Bowl is a special game where the best players from the league get to play against each other.
Later, he played for the Chicago Bears from 1964 to 1966. He was a very versatile player, meaning he could do many different things on the field. He was a halfback, which is a running back, and also returned kicks and punts.
Life After Football
After he stopped playing professional football, Jon Arnett started a business. He ran a distribution service that delivered frozen foods to big stores like Costco, Sam's Club, and Walmart.
For many years, Jon Arnett and his family lived in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Later, they moved to Lake Oswego, Oregon.
