Jon Fisher is a successful Silicon Valley entrepreneur. An entrepreneur is someone who starts and runs new businesses. As of 2021, Fisher is the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and a co-founder of a software company called ViciNFT.

He has helped start many companies. Some of these include Bharosa, which was later sold to Oracle Corporation. He also co-founded NetClerk, which is now part of Roper Technologies, and AutoReach, which is now part of AutoNation. Another company he helped start is CrowdOptic.

Early Life and Education

Jon Fisher was born in Stanford, California. His parents, Gerald and Anita Fisher, were university professors. His father was a nuclear physicist at Stanford University.

Fisher went to The Nueva School and Crystal Springs Uplands School. He later studied at Vassar College before finishing his degree at the University of San Francisco.

In 1994, Jon Fisher helped start AutoReach. He was also its chief executive officer. This company is now part of AutoNation. Ray Lane, who used to be the president of Oracle, was one of Fisher's first investors. An investor is someone who puts money into a new business to help it grow. Ray Lane also invested in two more of Fisher's companies later on.

In 1998, Fisher co-founded and became the CEO of NetClerk, Inc. This company created an online system for getting construction permits. A construction permit is an official paper that allows you to build something. NetClerk is now part of Roper Technologies. In 2004, Fisher co-founded Bharosa. This company was bought by Oracle Corporation in 2007.

Teaching and Writing

Jon Fisher is also a part-time professor at the University of San Francisco. He has written two books. His first book, Strategic Entrepreneurism: Shattering the Start-Up Entrepreneurial Myths, came out in 2008.

His second book, I Took the Only Path to See You, was published in 2021 by Wiley Publishers. To help promote this book, the publisher also released a non-fungible token (NFT). An NFT is a special digital item that shows you own something unique online.

Awards and Recognition

Jon Fisher has received several awards for his work:

  • He was named one of American City Business Journals' "Forty Under 40" in 2006. This award recognizes successful people under the age of 40.
  • He won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award in the Emerging Category in 2007.

Personal Life and Community Work

Jon Fisher is married to Darla Kincheloe Fisher. They have one daughter.

Fisher has been involved in many community activities. He was a trustee for the Nueva School in Hillsborough, CA. He also helped with their fundraising campaign in 2008. He has served on the board of the Pacific Vascular Research Foundation and the Buck Institute For Age Research.

Fisher was a big supporter and fundraiser for the Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign. As of 2024, Jon Fisher is the chairman of Bay Ecotarium. This organization includes the San Francisco Aquarium of the Bay.
