Jon Fisher is an American entrepreneur from Silicon Valley. An entrepreneur is someone who starts and runs their own businesses. As of 2021, he is the CEO of a software company called ViciNFT.

Fisher has started several successful companies. One of his most famous companies was Bharosa. It created security software that was later used in the Oracle Adaptive Access Manager. In 2007, the Oracle Corporation bought Bharosa for a reported $50 million. He also started other companies like NetClerk, which is now part of Roper Technologies, and AutoReach, which is now part of AutoNation.

Early Life and Schooling

Jon Fisher was born in Stanford, California. His parents, Gerald and Anita Fisher, were both university professors. His father was a nuclear physicist at Stanford University.

Fisher went to The Nueva School and Crystal Springs Uplands School. After high school, he attended Vassar College and later graduated from the University of San Francisco.

Starting New Companies

In 1994, Fisher co-founded AutoReach, a company that helped car dealerships. He was the company's chief executive officer (CEO).

In 1998, he co-founded NetClerk, Inc. This company created a way for builders to get construction permits online, making the process much faster and easier.

In 2004, Fisher co-founded another company called Bharosa. This company focused on making online accounts safer. In 2007, the technology giant Oracle Corporation bought Bharosa.

Teaching and Writing Books

Besides starting companies, Fisher is also a professor at the University of San Francisco, where he teaches students about business.

He has written two books. His first book, Strategic Entrepreneurism: Shattering the Start-Up Entrepreneurial Myths, was published in 2008. His second book, I Took the Only Path to See You, came out in 2021. To help promote the book, the publisher also released a non-fungible token (NFT), which is a unique digital item.

Fisher has received awards for his success as a business leader.

Personal Life and Community Work

Fisher is married to Darla Kincheloe Fisher, and they have one daughter.

He is also active in his community. He has served as a trustee for the Nueva School, helping to guide the school and raise money. He has also been involved with health research groups like the Pacific Vascular Research Foundation and the Buck Institute For Age Research.

In 2020, Fisher was a major fundraiser for the presidential campaign of Joe Biden. As of 2024, Fisher is the chairman of the Bay Ecotarium, an organization that includes the San Francisco Aquarium of the Bay.
