Jonas Jean Bloquet (born July 10, 1992) is a Belgian actor and film director. He started acting when he was 15 years old. His first movie was a drama called Private Lessons (2008). For this role, he was nominated for a Magritte Award for Best New Actor.
Jonas has acted in movies from Belgium, France, and the United States. He is well-known for playing Vincent Leblanc in the thriller Elle (2016). This role earned him a nomination for a César Award for Best New Actor. He also played Maurice "Frenchie" Theriault in the horror films The Nun (2018) and The Nun II (2023). On TV, he appeared in the mystery series 1899 (2022). He also played Joseph II, Holy Roman Emperor in the historical show Marie Antoinette (2023).

Early Life and Education
Jonas Bloquet was born in Brussels, Belgium, on July 10, 1992. His father was a tennis teacher. His mother worked for the European Commission. Jonas also has a brother.
As a child, Jonas played tennis. His father was his coach. He first wanted to be an engineer. But his mother saw an ad for a movie looking for a teenager who played tennis. She encouraged him to try out for the film Private Lessons. It turned out that the director, Joachim Lafosse, had been a tennis student of Jonas's father years before.
Jonas speaks French, Dutch, and English. In 2010, he moved to Paris, France. There, he studied acting for three years at the Eva Saint-Paul Theatre School. Later, he studied filmmaking at Luc Besson's Ecole de la Cité.
Acting and Directing Career
Jonas Bloquet began his acting career in 2008. He was 15 when he starred in the Belgian drama Private Lessons. This movie was directed by Joachim Lafosse. His performance earned him a nomination for a Magritte Award for Most Promising Actor.
In 2013, Jonas had a small part in The Family. This was his first English-language film, directed by Luc Besson. He also appeared in the drama Tonnerre. The next year, in 2014, he was in the action thriller 3 Days to Kill.
Between 2015 and 2016, Jonas also directed four short films. These included Conte sur moi and Max.
In 2016, he played Vincent Leblanc in the French-German thriller Elle. In this movie, he played the son of the main character. For this role, Jonas was nominated for a César Award for Most Promising Actor. He also appeared in the drama Orphan that year. In 2017, he had a role in Luc Besson's science fiction film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
In 2018, Jonas took on the role of Maurice "Frenchie" Theriault. This was in the American horror film The Nun. He played the same character again in the sequel, The Nun II, which came out in 2023.
In 2021, he played a French military officer named Jules Brunet in the Japanese film Baragaki: Unbroken Samurai. In 2022, he was in the war drama Father & Soldier. In 2023, he played Joseph II, Holy Roman Emperor in the French historical TV series Marie Antoinette.

Personal Life
Since 2015, Jonas Bloquet has been in a relationship with actress Claire Boyé. They worked together on the 2015 short film Conte sur moi. In July 2023, they welcomed their first child, a son. They live in Paris, France.
