Jonathan Racine was born on May 28, 1993. He is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He plays as a defenceman, which means he helps protect his team's goal. Currently, he plays for HC Vita Hästen in Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan league. The Florida Panthers picked him in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He was the 87th player chosen overall.

Jonathan Racine's Hockey Journey
Starting His Professional Career
On April 3, 2013, the Florida Panthers team signed Jonathan to a three-year contract. This was his first professional deal. He started playing in the American Hockey League (AHL). His first AHL team was the San Antonio Rampage.
Making It to the NHL
Jonathan got a big chance on April 1, 2014. He was called up to play for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). This was his very first NHL game! He played for over 15 minutes against the New York Islanders. The next day, he went back to play with the San Antonio Rampage.
Moving Between Teams
Before the 2016–17 season, Jonathan was traded. The Panthers sent him to the Montreal Canadiens. In return, the Panthers received another player, Tim Bozon. Jonathan was then sent to the Canadiens' AHL team, the St. John's IceCaps. He played 26 games there and made 3 assists.
Later that season, on January 26, 2017, he was traded again! This time, he went to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Lightning also got a draft pick. In exchange, the Canadiens received defenseman Nikita Nesterov. Jonathan finished that season playing for the Lightning's AHL team, the Syracuse Crunch.
New Adventures in Hockey
After his time with the Lightning, Jonathan became a free agent. This means he could sign with any team. On September 27, 2017, he signed a special contract. It was a "professional try-out" with the Ontario Reign. This allowed him to join their training camp. He later signed a full AHL contract with the Reign. He was then sent to play for the Manchester Monarchs in the ECHL league.
For the 2018–19 season, Jonathan decided to stay in the ECHL. He signed a one-year contract with the Brampton Beast. He was later loaned to the Belleville Senators in the AHL. He then signed an AHL contract with them. He played 9 games for Belleville and scored 1 goal.
In 2019, Jonathan became a free agent again. He signed with the Maine Mariners in the ECHL. He was also loaned to the Stockton Heat, an AHL team. The Heat is connected to the Calgary Flames.
Playing Hockey in Europe
After playing 7 games with the Stockton Heat, Jonathan decided to move. He left North America to play hockey in Europe. On February 15, 2020, he signed a contract with Tappara. This is a Finnish club in the Liiga league.
For the 2020–21 season, Jonathan played in Austria. He joined HC TWK Innsbruck in the ICE Hockey League. After that, he continued his career in Europe. On June 11, 2021, he signed a one-year contract. He joined HC Vita Hästen in Sweden. This team plays in the HockeyAllsvenskan, which is Sweden's second-highest league.
