Green was chosen by the Detroit Lions in the 2012 NFL draft. He played college football at New Mexico State. Time with the Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions picked Jonte Green in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL draft. He was the 196th player chosen overall. During his first two years with the Lions, Green played in 24 games. He made 38 tackles, which means he stopped the opposing team's players 38 times. He also defended 7 passes and made 1 interception, where he caught the ball thrown by the other team's quarterback. He also had 1 quarterback sack, meaning he tackled the opposing quarterback. The Lions released him in August 2014.
Other NFL Teams
After leaving the Lions, Green signed a contract with the Buffalo Bills in January 2015. This was a "futures contract," which means it would start in the next season. However, he was released by the Bills in April of that year.
