Jorge Mendonça played for many different football clubs in Brazil during his career. He started playing professionally in 1971.
Early Career
He began his journey with Bangu from 1971 to 1973. After that, he moved to Náutico Capibaribe, where he played from 1974 to 1976. During his time at Náutico, he showed his goal-scoring abilities in the top Brazilian league.
Time at Palmeiras
One of his most notable periods was with Palmeiras. He joined them in 1976 and stayed until 1979. At Palmeiras, he continued to be a key player, scoring many goals in the Série A.
Moving Around
After Palmeiras, Jorge played for several other important clubs. In 1980, he briefly played for Vasco da Gama. Later that year, he joined Guarani, where he played until 1983. He also had spells at Ponte Preta (1983-1985 and again in 1989), Cruzeiro (1985), and Rio Branco (1986).
Later Years
Towards the end of his career, he played for Colorado from 1987 to 1988. He finished his professional playing days with Paulista from 1989 to 1990. Throughout his club career, Jorge Mendonça played in 175 matches and scored 84 goals.
Playing for Brazil
Jorge Mendonça also had the honor of representing his country. He played for the Brazilian national team in 1978.
