Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo Pallás (born March 26, 1948) is a famous Mexican comedian, actor, and television producer. He has also worked as a film director, screenwriter, and host.
He is known for his many roles in TV shows, movies, and plays. Jorge comes from a family of actors; his father was Óscar Ortiz de Pinedo from Cuba, and his mother was Lupita Pallás from Mexico.

Early Life and Family
Jorge was born in Mexico City, Mexico, on March 26, 1948. Growing up with actor parents, it's no surprise he chose a career in entertainment.
Sadly, his mother, Lupita Pallás, and his sister, Laila, passed away in a tragic event on November 23, 1985. They were passengers on EgyptAir Flight 648, which was taken over by a terrorist group.

Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo has had a very busy and successful career. He has appeared in many popular TV shows, including:

In 2007, Jorge was featured in a book called Televisa presenta. This book celebrated 50 years of television in Mexico and recognized his important contributions. His most successful shows, like Dr. Cándido Pérez, Cero en conducta, and La escuelita VIP, were highlighted.
For all his hard work in TV and movies, Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo has a special honor. His handprints are placed on the Paseo de las Luminarias, which is like a Hall of Fame for stars in Mexico.

Jorge has won many awards from Mexico and other countries. He has even represented Mexico at the International Theatre Festival in Caracas. He was also a member of the National Theatre Company of Bellas Artes.

Health and Retirement
In 2013, Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo was diagnosed with lung cancer. He continued to work for several years. He officially retired from his active career in July 2019.
