José Ramón de la Morena Pozuelo, born in 1956 in Brunete, Madrid, Spain, is a well-known Spanish journalist. He studied information science, which is about how we get and share news. He became famous for directing and presenting the radio show El Transistor on the Onda Cero radio station.
His Journey in Radio
José Ramón de la Morena started his career as a journalist at Radio Intercontinental. In 1981, he joined the sports team at Cadena SER. There, he covered many exciting sports events. These included the FIFA World Cup in football, the La Liga tournament, and big cycling races like the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España.
Leading Sports Radio
On September 3, 1989, José Ramón de la Morena began working on a new radio show called El Larguero. This show quickly became very popular. By the mid-1990s, more and more people were listening to it. El Larguero even became more popular than its main competitor, Supergarcía, on the COPE radio network.
El Larguero became the most listened-to sports show in Spain during its time slot. Every night, from midnight to 1:30 a.m., people tuned in to hear the latest sports news and discussions.
