Joseph Biddle Wilkinson Jr. (born February 20, 1845 – died October 23, 1915) was an important American judge. He served on the Board of General Appraisers, which helped decide the value of imported goods.

Early Life and Career
Joseph Biddle Wilkinson Jr. was born on February 20, 1845. His birthplace was Pointe Celeste Plantation in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. He went to the Virginia Military Institute for his education.
Serving in the Civil War
From 1861 to 1865, Joseph Wilkinson Jr. was a lieutenant. He served in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. After the war ended, he worked as a planter in Plaquemines Parish until 1885.
Working at the Customs House
From 1866 to 1890, Wilkinson Jr. held an important job. He was the Chief Clerk for the New Orleans Customs House. This office collected taxes on goods brought into the country.
Federal Judge Service
Joseph Wilkinson Jr. became a federal judge. President Benjamin Harrison chose him for the Board of General Appraisers. This board was new and helped decide the value of imported items.
Joining the Board
On July 2, 1890, President Harrison officially suggested Wilkinson for the role. The United States Senate then approved him on July 16, 1890. He received his official appointment on the same day.
End of Service
Wilkinson Jr. served on the board until December 15, 1899. He decided to leave his position. Marion De Vries took his place as a member of the board.
Later Life and Death
Joseph Biddle Wilkinson Jr. passed away on October 23, 1915. He died in Waterproof, Tensas Parish, Louisiana.
