Josephine Eliza Langford (born August 18, 1997) is a talented actress from Australia. She is most famous for playing Tessa Young in the After movie series. You might also know her as Emma Cunningham from the Netflix movie Moxie. Josephine has also starred as Zoey Miller in the Amazon Prime Video romantic comedy The Other Zoey and as Katy Gibson in Gigi & Nate.

Early Life and Interests
Josephine Langford was born in Perth, Western Australia. She grew up in Applecross, a suburb of Perth located by a river. Her father, Stephen Langford, is a flying doctor. Her mother, Elizabeth Green, is a pediatrician. Josephine's older sister, Katherine Langford, is also a well-known actress.
When she was a child, Josephine loved music. She learned to play the saxophone, violin, and piano. She even played cricket! At just 10 years old, in 2008, Josephine wrote and performed a song called "Shadows." This song won her the "Song of the Year" award in a music competition. She also wrote two other songs, "Lonely" (2007) and "Sea Shanty" (2008), with another young composer, Kristina Lang.
Josephine's Acting Journey
Josephine started taking acting classes when she was 13 years old. In 2012, she joined the Perth Film School to learn more about acting. By the age of 14, she was already appearing in short films. Some of these early films include Sex Ed (2013), When Separating (2013), and Gypsy Blood (2014).
Her first big screen role was in the independent film Pulse (2017). This movie was shown at different film festivals. In the same year, she also had a supporting role in the American horror film Wish Upon, where she acted alongside Joey King. Josephine also made her television debut in 2017 on the Australian series Wolf Creek.
Becoming Tessa Young in After
In July 2018, Josephine Langford was chosen for the main role of Tessa Young in the movie After. This film is based on a popular novel by Anna Todd. After came out in 2019 and earned a lot of money around the world. For her role as Tessa, Josephine won a Teen Choice Award.
She continued to play Tessa Young in the sequel, After We Collided, which was released in September 2020. In 2019, Josephine also appeared in an American horror anthology web television series called Into the Dark.
Other Notable Roles
In November 2019, Josephine was cast as Emma Cunningham in the Netflix film Moxie. This movie is based on a novel by Jennifer Mathieu. The After series continued with After We Fell (2021) and After Ever Happy (2022). The fifth and final movie in the series, After Everything, was released in 2023.
