Josephine Eliza Langford, born on August 18, 1997, is an actress from Australia. She is most famous for playing Tessa Young in the After movie series. She also starred as Emma Cunningham in the Netflix film Moxie. You might also know her as Zoey Miller from the Amazon Prime Video movie The Other Zoey or Katy Gibson in Gigi & Nate.

About Josephine Langford's Early Life
Josephine Langford grew up in Applecross, a suburb near Perth, Australia. Her father, Stephen Langford, is a flying doctor. Her mother, Elizabeth Green, is a pediatrician. Josephine's older sister, Katherine, is also an actress.
When Josephine was a child, she loved music. She learned to play the saxophone, violin, and piano. She even played cricket! At just 10 years old, in 2008, Josephine wrote a song called "Shadows." This song won her the "Song of the Year" award in a music competition. She also wrote two other songs, "Lonely" in 2007 and "Sea Shanty" in 2008.
Josephine Langford's Acting Career
Josephine started taking acting classes when she was 13. In 2012, she joined the Perth Film School. By the age of 14, she was already acting in short films. Some of these early films include Sex Ed (2013), When Separating (2013), and Gypsy Blood (2014).
Her first big movie role was in the independent film Pulse in 2017. This movie was shown at film festivals. In the same year, she also appeared in the American horror film Wish Upon alongside Joey King. Josephine also made her first TV appearance in 2017 on the Australian series Wolf Creek.
Becoming Tessa Young in the After Series
In July 2018, Josephine Langford was chosen to play Tessa Young in the movie After. This film is based on a popular book by Anna Todd. The movie came out in 2019 and earned a lot of money worldwide. Josephine won a Teen Choice Award for her role as Tessa.
She continued to play Tessa Young in the next movie, After We Collided, which was released in September 2020. In 2019, Josephine also appeared in the TV series Into the Dark.
The After series continued with After We Fell in 2021 and After Ever Happy in 2022. The fifth and final movie in the series, After Everything, was released in 2023.
Other Notable Roles
In November 2019, Josephine was cast as Emma Cunningham in the Netflix film Moxie. This movie is based on a book by Jennifer Mathieu. She also starred in Gigi & Nate in 2022 and The Other Zoey in 2023. In 2024, she appeared as herself in the documentary Beyond After.
