Josh Bell (born November 13, 1986) is an American former professional baseball player. He played as a third baseman. Playing Career Highlights

Starting with the Dodgers

Josh Bell was chosen by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2005 baseball draft. This was after he played for Santaluces High School in Florida. He spent his early career playing for different minor league teams. In 2006, he played for the Ogden Raptors. He hit very well, with a batting average of .308. He was even named an All-Star for the Pioneer League.

In 2008, Bell had knee surgery, which made him miss part of the season. But he came back strong in 2009. He was promoted to the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. There, he was chosen for the Southern League All-Star team. He played great in the All-Star game, hitting a home run. He was even named the Most Valuable Player of that game!

Time with the Baltimore Orioles

On July 30, 2009, Josh Bell was traded to the Baltimore Orioles. This trade also included his teammate Steve Johnson. In exchange, the Dodgers received pitcher George Sherrill.

Bell got his chance to play in the Major Leagues on July 1, 2010. He joined the Orioles to fill in for an injured player. Later that month, he became the starting third baseman for the rest of the 2010 season. In 2011, he was sent to the Orioles' Triple-A team. In April 2012, the Orioles removed Bell from their main roster. This was to make space for another player.

Playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks

The Orioles traded Bell to the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 21, 2012. He was first sent to their Triple-A team in Reno. Then, on May 21, he was called up to play for the Diamondbacks.

After the 2012 season, Bell was sent to the minor leagues. He decided to become a free agent instead. This meant he could sign with any team he wanted.

Other Teams and Leagues

Josh Bell continued his baseball journey after leaving the Diamondbacks. He signed minor league contracts with a few other teams. These included the Chicago White Sox in 2013 and the New York Yankees in 2013.

In 2014, Bell decided to play baseball in South Korea. He signed with the LG Twins in the KBO League. He played there for a few months before being released.

He later played for the San Diego Padres minor league system in 2015. He also played in the Mexican League for the Rojos del Aguila de Veracruz in 2015.

Joining the Lancaster Barnstormers

In 2016, Bell signed with the Lancaster Barnstormers. This team is part of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, which is an independent league. He played very well for them, hitting 19 home runs.

After the 2016 season, Josh Bell decided to retire from playing full-time. He became the hitting coach for the Lancaster Barnstormers for the 2017 season. However, he did return to play for the Barnstormers in 2017, 2018, and 2019. In 2019, he was a player-coach for the team.
