Joshua Aaron Charles (born September 15, 1971) is an American actor who has worked in movies, television, and theater. He is well-known for playing Dan Rydell in Sports Night and Will Gardner in The Good Wife. For his role in The Good Wife, he was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards. He also had early roles as Knox Overstreet in Dead Poets Society and Bryan in Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead.

Early Life and Education
Josh Charles was born in Baltimore, Maryland. His father, Allan Charles, worked in advertising. His mother is Laura Peyton. Josh started doing comedy shows when he was just 9 years old.
As a teenager, he spent several summers at a performing arts center in New York called Stagedoor Manor. He also went to the Baltimore School for the Arts. There, he was classmates with famous people like Jada Pinkett and Tupac Shakur.
