Joyce Elizabeth Sims-Sandiford (born August 6, 1959 – died October 13, 2022) was an American singer and songwriter. She was best known for her hit song, "Come into My Life". This song became very popular in 1987 and 1988. It reached the top 10 on music charts in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

Early Life and Music Studies
Joyce Sims was born in Rochester, New York, on August 6, 1959. She loved music from a young age. In college, she studied music formally. She learned to play many different instruments.
Joyce Sims' Music Career
In 1986, Joyce Sims signed with a record company called Sleeping Bag Records. A record company helps artists make and sell their music. Her first popular song was "(You Are My) All and All" in 1986. This song was produced by Kurtis Mantronik. It reached number 16 on the music charts in the United Kingdom. It also climbed to number 6 on the US Dance Chart.
In 1988, Sims released her most famous song, "Come into My Life". Kurtis Mantronik also produced this song. It reached number 10 on the US Billboard R&B Chart. It also hit number 7 on the UK Singles Chart. This was her biggest success.
Joyce Sims' first album, also called Come into My Life, came out after her hit song. It reached number 22 on the US R&B album chart. It also reached number 5 on the UK Albums Chart. Joyce Sims wrote almost all the songs on this album herself. Her second album, All About Love, was released in 1989. It reached number 64 on the UK Albums Chart.
Later, in 1994, Sims released a song called "Who's Crying Now." This song came out on Warlock Records. In 2006, she released "What the World Needs Now is Love." This song was from her album A New Beginning. She worked with producers Junior Vasquez and Glen Frisica on this song.
In 2009, a special collection of her best songs was released. It was called Come into My Life: the Very Best of Joyce Sims. It included her original songs and different versions called remixes. That same year, she started her own record company, August Rose Records. She also began working on new music.
In 2014, Sims released an album called Love Song. This album included a song she sang with reggae artist Maxi Priest. Joyce Sims' music has also been featured in movies. You can hear her songs on the soundtrack of the film Species. Other famous artists like Randy Crawford, Angie Stone, and Snoop Dogg have used parts of her songs in their own music. This is called "sampling." She also released another album, Back in Love Again, on her own label.
