Juan José Lucas Giménez (born 10 May 1944) is a Spanish lawyer, professor, and politician. He is a member of the People's Party. He has held many important roles in the Spanish government.

Early Life and Education

Juan José Lucas Giménez was born in Burgo de Osma, Soria, Spain. His birthday is on May 10, 1944. He went to the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. There, he earned a degree in law.

Starting His Career

In 1968 and 1969, Lucas Giménez worked as a professor. He also taught as a tutor at Soria University. Later, he joined a government agency called INEM. He held different jobs there, like secretary and director. He also worked for the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

A Leader in the Senate

On March 22, 2002, Juan José Lucas Giménez became a Senator. The Senate is like one of the two main parts of Spain's parliament. From October 16, 2002, to April 2, 2004, he was the President of the Senate. This is a very important leadership role.

After his party lost its majority in the 2004 elections, he became the Second Vice President of the Senate. This was from 2004 to 2011. Later, in December 2011, he was chosen to be the First Vice President of the Senate. He held this position until January 2016.
