Juan Lacaze, also known as Juan L. Lacaze, is a city in the southwestern part of Uruguay. It is located in the Colonia Department.

Where is Juan Lacaze?
This city is found in southern Colonia, right on Route 54. It's about 43 kilometers (27 miles) east of Colonia del Sacramento. Juan Lacaze is also about 150 kilometers (93 miles) west of Montevideo, which is the capital city of Uruguay.
Juan Lacaze is located along the coast of the Río de la Plata. A stream called Arroyo Sauce flows west of the city. The Rosario River's mouth is about 10 kilometers (6 miles) to the east.
A Look at Juan Lacaze's History
Juan Lacaze has grown a lot over the years! On March 15, 1920, the area known as "Puerto del Sauce" was officially named a "Pueblo" (which means village).
Later that same year, on August 17, 1920, it became a "Villa" (a larger town). Finally, on May 8, 1953, Juan Lacaze was officially declared a "Ciudad" (a city).
