Early Life and Education

Judith McConnell was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She went to Carnegie Mellon University. In 1965, she was crowned Miss Pennsylvania. She then competed in the 1966 Miss America pageant.

Acting Career

Judith McConnell started her acting journey in 1967. One of her first roles was in an episode of Judd, for the Defense. She also appeared in the classic science fiction show Star Trek. In this show, she played Yeoman Tankris in the episode "Wolf in the Fold".

She also had roles in popular comedy shows. These included two episodes of Get Smart. She played Princess Marta in one of them. Later, she had short roles on The Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres.

From 1973 to 1975, Judith played Nurse Augusta McLeod on General Hospital. After that, she moved to New York. There, she joined the cast of As the World Turns from 1976 to 1979. She played a character named Valerie Conway. She also appeared on Another World as Miranda Bishop.

In 1983, she had a brief role on One Life to Live. Soon after, she moved back to Los Angeles. This is when she got her most famous role. She joined Santa Barbara as Sophia Capwell. Her character was believed to be dead for a long time.
