Judy Lenteen Pace (born June 15, 1942) is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles in many movies and TV shows. Judy Pace played Vickie Fletcher in the TV series Peyton Place from 1968 to 1969. She also starred as Pat Walters in the ABC drama series The Young Lawyers from 1969 to 1971. For her work on The Young Lawyers, she won an Image Award in 1970. This award was for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series.

Judy Pace's Early Life and Career

Judy Pace was born in Los Angeles, California. Her father was an airplane mechanic, and her mother was a dressmaker.

After finishing Dorsey High School, Judy went to Los Angeles City College. She studied sociology there. Her first movie role was in 13 Frightened Girls in 1963.

Becoming a TV Star

In 1968, Judy got a big role in Hollywood. She played Vickie Fletcher in the popular ABC-TV show Peyton Place. This was a special role because she was the first Black actress to play a villain on TV. Also in 1968, a famous movie critic named Roger Ebert praised her acting. He said she was a "quick, funny actress" who made scenes "sparkling."

Judy Pace became a familiar face on TV and in movies during the 1970s. She appeared in many popular TV shows. These included Batman, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Sanford and Son, and Good Times.

For one season, she was a main star in the drama The Young Lawyers on ABC. She also had an important role in the 1971 ABC-TV movie Brian's Song. In this movie, she played Linda, the wife of football player Gale Sayers.

Judy Pace's Personal Life

In 1972, Judy Pace married actor Don Mitchell. They had two daughters together. Their daughters are actress Julia Pace Mitchell and Shawn Meshelle Mitchell. Judy and Don divorced in 1984.

Before this marriage, Judy had met baseball star Curt Flood in 1966. They met when she was on the game show The Dating Game. They dated until 1970. After her divorce from Don Mitchell, Judy and Curt Flood met again. They got married in 1986. They stayed together until Curt Flood passed away in 1997.
