  • Elmer is a small community that does not have its own city government. It is located where two main roads, M-19 and M-46, meet. This spot is along the northern edge of the township, next to Moore Township.
  • The first European settler, Walter Hyslop, arrived here in January 1866. The community was named after the township, which was officially set up in 1870. It used to have a post office from 1876 to 1906.

Juhl

  • Juhl was a historical settlement within the township. It was started in 1882 by Jens C. Juhl, who came from Denmark.
