Jukka Henri Kristian Backlund (born December 30, 1982) is a talented Finnish music producer and multi-instrumentalist. This means he can play many different musical instruments. He is well-known for his work behind the scenes, helping artists create their music.
Jukka was a member of the Finnish rock band Sunrise Avenue. He played keyboards for the group. He is especially famous for producing their first album, On the Way to Wonderland. This album became the best-selling international debut from Finland. Jukka also helped write many songs on the album with the lead singer, Samu Haber. These songs include popular singles like "Fairytale Gone Bad" and "Forever Yours".
Jukka Backlund's Musical Journey
Jukka Backlund started his professional music career in 1998. Since then, he has worked as a bandleader and keyboard player for many different artists. In 2011, he started a new band called DEAD SIRIUS 3000. He formed this pop-fusion band with his brother Tapio Backlund and guitarist Petteri Sariola. In DEAD SIRIUS 3000, Jukka plays the drums.
Jukka began learning classical piano when he was just five years old. Later, he studied jazz music and how to compose music at the youth department of Sibelius Academy. His father, Kaj Backlund, was also a jazz musician.
