Samu Aleksi Haber (born April 2, 1976) is a famous Finnish singer and songwriter. He is also a judge on music TV shows and an entrepreneur. Samu was the main singer for the pop-rock band Sunrise Avenue. In 2022, the band took a break, and Samu started focusing on his solo music career.

Early life and family
Samu Haber's family comes from Germany, but they have always lived in Finland. He has an older sister named Sanna, born in 1978. He also has a younger brother named Santtu, born in 1989.
Music career beginnings
Samu started a band called Sunrise in 1992 with his friend Jan Hohenthal. Jan left the band in 2002 to work on his own music. In 2002, Samu changed the band's name to Sunrise Avenue.
Between 2002 and 2005, Samu visited many record companies. He went to 102 different companies and agents. He was trying to find a music label for Sunrise Avenue. Their first album was made with help from Samu's friend, Mikko Virtala. Mikko even sold his house to pay for the studio costs!
Sunrise Avenue's success
Samu's band, Sunrise Avenue, released five studio albums. Their first three albums sold over 3 million copies worldwide. They also sold 2 million singles. Samu was the main songwriter for Sunrise Avenue. He wrote all the band's songs, sometimes alone and sometimes with a producer. The band's last big international song, "Hollywood Hills", was written by Samu by himself.
Samu also helps new Finnish bands and artists. He works as a co-manager with CoMusic Management. From 2007 to 2010, Samu owned a music studio called Sonic Kitchen. He owned it with producers Jukka Backlund and Aku Sinivalo.
TV music judge
Samu Haber has been a coach on the German TV show The Voice of Germany. He was a coach in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2024. In 2020, he worked with Rea Garvey as a duo coaching team. Samu's team won the show in 2017, 2020, and 2024. This means he was the winning coach for his last three seasons.
In 2023, Samu hosted Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu. This is Finland's national show to choose their song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
Solo music journey
Samu Haber released his first solo song, "Enkelten kaupunki", in 2020. This means "City of Angels" in English. He has also written other solo songs. These include "Täältä tullaan" (2021), "Sä" (2022), and "Sata vuotta sitten" (2022). Samu's solo album, Pelastetaan maailma, came out in 2022.
As a solo artist, Samu has appeared on the Finnish TV show Vain elämää. He was on season 6 in 2017 and season 10 in 2019. On the show, artists perform their own songs and also new versions of other artists' songs. Samu performed some songs with their original words. For other songs, he wrote new words and updated them. He also released these new versions as singles.

Personal interests
Samu Haber is a big fan of ice hockey. His favorite team is Helsingfors IFK. Samu played ice hockey for Espoon Kiekkoseura
until he was 14 years old. He played as a defense-man and even went to tournaments in Canada and the United States. Samu also enjoys kettle bell training and jogging.Samu served in the Finnish military and holds the rank of Finnish Navy Sergeant.
