Julia Francesca Barretto Baldivia (born March 10, 1997), known as Julia Barretto, is a Filipino actress, model, and business owner. She is famous for her main roles in romantic comedies and dramas.
Julia started acting when she was a child in TV shows called soap operas. She has starred in many popular movies like Vince and Kath and James (2016), Love You to the Stars and Back (2017), Unexpectedly Yours (2017), and Un/Happy for You (2024). She has won several awards, including two FAMAS Awards.

Her Family and Education
Julia Barretto is the daughter of actors Dennis Padilla and Marjorie Barretto. She has a brother and a sister. Her aunts, Claudine Barretto and Gretchen Barretto, are also well-known actresses.
Julia finished elementary school at Miriam College in Quezon City in March 2011. She started high school there and even played on their varsity volleyball team. In 2013, she moved to St. Paul College, Pasig to continue her studies while working as a professional talent. She graduated from high school in 2015.
Julia's Acting Journey
Starting Out and Becoming Known (2006–2014)
Julia began her acting career as a child in 2006 with the TV show Gulong ng Palad. She played small roles before becoming famous as Anna in the fantasy series Kokey in 2007. The next year, she appeared in the action drama Palos.
She also appeared in many episodes of popular TV anthologies like Wansapanataym and Maalaala Mo Kaya. In 2011, she attended the Star Magic Ball for the first time. The next year, she was named "Princess of the Night" at the event.
In 2013, Julia became part of the "Star Magic Circle," a group of new talents, alongside Liza Soberano and Janella Salvador. She got her first main role in the drama series Mirabella in 2014. This show was very popular, becoming the fourth most-watched TV show during its run. Its final episode had a high viewership of 27.3% across the country. In the same year, Julia received a German Moreno Youth Achievement Award at the 2014 FAMAS Awards.
Becoming a Main Star (2015–2019)
In May 2015, Julia made her first movie appearance in the teen romance Para sa Hopeless Romantic. This film earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 2016 FAMAS Awards. Later that year, she starred in the TV drama And I Love You So.
Julia then took on more roles in romantic comedies and dramas. In December 2016, she starred with Joshua Garcia and Ronnie Alonte in the movie Vince and Kath and James. This film was a big hit at the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival, earning ₱123 million.
After their successful pairing, Julia and Joshua Garcia starred together again in Love You to the Stars and Back. Critics praised this film, and it earned ₱112 million. Julia's acting in this movie also earned her nominations for Best Actress at the FAMAS and Luna Awards.
In 2017, Julia and Joshua teamed up for a third time in the film Unexpectedly Yours, also starring Sharon Cuneta and Robin Padilla. This movie was even more successful, making ₱249 million worldwide. In August 2018, the pair made their TV series debut in Ngayon at Kailanman. This show was consistently highly rated, with its finale reaching a national TV rating of 34.7%. The same year, Julia and Joshua starred with Kris Aquino in the movie I Love You, Hater.
In May 2019, Julia starred in the romance drama Between Maybes with Gerald Anderson. This was her first project without Joshua Garcia in over two years. Julia has been nominated many times for "Movie Loveteam of the Year" at the PMPC Star Awards for Movies from 2017 to 2022.
Continued Success (2020–Present)
In January 2020, Julia starred in the zombie thriller film Block Z. While its cinema performance was moderate, it became very popular online. In February 2020, she starred in the online series I Am U.
In September 2020, Julia joined Viva Artists Agency. In February 2022, she starred in the horror film Bahay na Pula. In September 2022, Julia starred with Carlo Aquino in the romantic drama Expensive Candy. Her performance in this movie was highly praised by critics.
In 2023, Julia was featured on the cover of Preview Magazine. In November, she became the new calendar girl for the local liquor brand Tanduay.
In 2024, Julia starred with Korean actor Sang Heon Lee and Indonesian actor Nicholas Saputra in the web series Secret Ingredient on Viu Philippines. She was nominated for "Best Leading Female in a Digital Series" at the 2024 Asian Television Awards for her role.
Julia reunited with Joshua Garcia in the 2024 romantic drama movie Un/Happy for You, which was a huge success at the box office. In May 2025, Julia joined Eat Bulaga! as a co-host.

Helping Others
Julia Barretto is also known for her charity work. In 2013, she held a Charity Bazaar to raise money for victims of Typhoon Yolanda. Her family helped her with this event.
In April 2020, Julia and her sisters, Dani and Claudia, started a fundraising event called #ParaMayBukas. They raised over 600,000 pesos to build an emergency quarantine facility for COVID-19 patients at Fe Del Mundo Medical Centre. The rest of the money was used to buy meals and protective gear for health workers.
In March 2021, she joined a Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) mission with her boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, to give relief goods to 300 Aeta families. In July of the same year, she participated in another PCG relief mission, distributing food packs to 100 families in San Antonio, Zambales.
In November 2024, Julia supported the Red Charity Gala, which raised over 5 million pesos for different foundations. In December 2024, she donated Christmas presents to 500 students at a charity event with Project Pearls Learning Center.
In April 2025, she took part in the "Run to Share" event, which raised 1 million pesos. All the money was donated to children with cancer at the Philippine General Hospital.
Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary
In September 2021, Julia Barretto joined the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Auxiliary K9 Squadron Unit as an Auxiliary Ensign. She has been active in supporting several PCG relief missions.
Personal Life
Julia Barretto dated actor Joshua Garcia from 2017 to 2019. They were a popular on-screen couple. Currently, Julia is in a relationship with actor Gerald Anderson.
Business Ventures
In November 2021, Julia launched her own accessory brand called The Juju Club. It sells various items like retro clips, hats, eyewear, and rings.
